Culture Jam October 22th, 2018

Culture Jam is an event for intercultural exchange from LLC department at UNCG. The presenters are not only students but also professors and tehy can convey their own culture through various ways, such as songs, dance,a small play...

I attended as a presenter and gave a presentation about the difference of university life between the United States and Japan.

I felt how difficult to describe a culture properly and introduce to those who don’t know it through the preparation for this event.

It is difficult to introduce own culture to others with different culture, however, I realized how important having a positive attitude to share or exchange my own culture is as a global reader.

International Festival April 6th, 2019

This event is the longest and biggest festival on campus which has been running at UNCG. There are many tables representing various countries over the world, which allows participants o be able to experience a lot of culture a quick bite.

I joined this event to be a volunteer of Japanese club. We had some activities, traditional fish game, calligraphy, origami, and provides some food like shrimp snacks and drinks such as ramune (Japanese tradtional soda).

It is the very accessible event. And, it is open to everyone, not only UNCG students but also other university students or locals. In other words, it also works as a great opportunity to make s strong connection between UNCG and local community at Greensboro.
