Service Learning Engagement
I’m working as an afterschool-tutor every Tuesday from 2p.m. to 5p.m. Basically, tutors engage in children at Hope Academy there such as playing games, taking devotional time, reading books together and assisting their homework or additional learning.
Through this service learning project, I could see how to build the connection with neighbors. I believe the reason why the activities of Hope Academy are succeeding that there is much enough trusted relationship among everyone that gets involved in the community, which leads a sustainablity of community.

Outgoing Students Orientation, March 23th 2019
I participated in the orientation as a panel and shared my experience since I came here, for instance, cultural stereotypes, culture shocks, mindset preparation, and expectations.
There were many students who are going to study abroad soon from UNCG and they looked so excited but nervous. It reminded me of what I was before my study abroad. What I highlighted in the panel discussion was “Be yourself and Challenge everything” because everyone experiences any culture shock, and. sometimes, becomes struggled in dealing with it. One of the goals of study abroad is to overcome such differences by yourself. Therefore, just enjoying the study abroad and being yourself are the best ways for making your study abroad great and beautiful.
